Toyota GR Supra
Soon after its launch, Toyota GR Supra has emerged as one of the most admired sports cars. And, Toyota is now all set to provide a turbocharged 3.0-litre 6-cylinder engine to this absolute beast. Moreover, the renowned car manufacturer will also dial up the car’s horsepower from 335 to 382, which will definitely be a treat for car enthusiasts.
Additionally, Toyota has planned to add a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder model with 255 horsepower to the lineup in order to help Supra expand its reach. However, the new 4-cylinder Supra 2.0 may not provide the absolute performance that is often expected from a sports car. But the 6-cylinder model is definitely worth the cost of the upgrade for majority of buyers.
Toyota GR Supra features
The all new GR Supra features Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-Centering Assist along with Blind-Spot monitoring that is a huge upgrade from the previous models. All the models of Toyota GR Supra come with an eight-speed automatic transmission and are offered with rear-wheel drive. Moreover, the supercar can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds that puts it into the competition with the industry giants such as Porsche Cayman GTS, Chevrolet Camaro and the BMW M2 Competition. The four-cylinder model delivers an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds that’s faster than its German cousin-the BMW Z4, which managed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.0 seconds.
Despite the performance potential of the GR Supra, it suspension is suitable enough to be driven on a regular basis. The direct, accurate and nicely-weighted steering of GR Supra enhances the driving experience which makes it a fun-to-drive sports car.
For sure with the turbocharged 3.0-litre engine with increased horsepower, the fuel economy of the 2021 GR Supra 3.0 take a slight hit. But, it’s still good enough as compared to its competitors. Toyota GR Supra offers a fuel economy of 8.3L/100km on highway, 11.36L/100km in city and 10L/100km combined.
Toyota GR Supra features an astonishing interior that has an 8.8 inch infotainment system, a digital gauge display along with Navigation and Apple CarPlay. However, Android Auto isn’t offered which is surely a shortcoming of this car. The company also provides an optional 12-speaker JBL audio system but it is expected that the 10-speaker audio system will be sufficient for this car keeping its interior size in mind.
