With a length/width/height of 5469/1921/1510 millimeters, The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is a classic three-box saloon.

Its distinguishing feature includes the Mercedes-Maybach radiator grille and a distinctive bonnet with a chromed fin.

Mercedes-Maybach S-Class luxurious interior

The luxurious interior of the Mercedes-Maybach is based on the revolutionary interior design of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

It has up to five display screens with a 12.8-inch OLED central display as a high-tech control center.

Introduced in 2018, The infotainment system MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) has its debut in the new S-Class.

However, the second generation of MBUX is even more personal and intuitive to use.

MBUX recognizes eye-direction, hand gestures, and the body language of the occupants.

Thus, MBUX assists the occupants with automatic vehicle functions as the situation requires.

For example, If MBUX Interior Assist recognizes the occupants’ intent to reach for the seat belt by hand, it automatically offers up the seat belt.

Efficient Engine

The engines of the Mercedes-Maybach are in part electrically assisted. Electrification is by an ISG (integrated second-generation) starter-generator. This electrification provides a boost of up to 15 kW.

Electrification by an ISG not only helps in efficient gliding when driving at a constant speed.

But also makes a start/stop experience even more comfortable.

Thus, making the drive system more efficient overall.

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class uses 9G-TRONIC transmission that was developed and adapted for the ISG. The power electronics, the transmission cooler, and the electric motor have now moved into or onto the transmission.

Using an electric refrigerant compressor, in conjunction with ISG, the entire two-piece belt drive was possible to eliminate.

This makes the interior more efficient and comfortably climatized when the engine is not running.

The AIRMATIC (air suspension) with continuously ADS+ (adjustable damping system) is standard equipment for this model.

It also has DYNAMIC SELECT, which can be used by the driver to individually modify the powertrain, ESP®, the suspension, and the steering.

Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Auto-pilot

DRIVE PILOT is expected to enter series production from the second half of 2021. This Drive pilot can take over the driving up to 60 km/h (37 mph) on a suitable motorway.

Release date

Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will be available in several markets before the end of this year.

Germany will follow in spring 2021 and in April of 2021 first customers from the USA and China will receive their vehicles.

The first examples of this model will reach dealer showrooms in Europe in summer 2021.
